RULES OF COMPETITION

Stone Knight Productions requests that all writers adhere to the rules established for any competition. 

Here is how you can enter, along with the SKP Competition Rules.

How to Enter:
  • Read all competition rules carefully.
  • Complete the entry form with your information.
  • Submit your story in PDF format.
  • Once payment is received (or if you are a member), your entry form, story or stories, and headshot will be considered your official entry.
  • All genres are accepted.
  • All submissions must be in English.
  • Feature-length screenplays: 120–145 pages.
  • Short-length screenplays: 35–55 pages.
  • Non-subscribers must pay the full entry fee.
  • Members may enter any competition at no cost but must submit a separate entry form for each story.
  • All screenplays must be submitted before the competition deadline.
  • Winners will be announced on the final day of the competition.

Our staff will review all submissions and select the Winner.

The Winner will be announced on Stone Knight Productions’ website and Facebook page. They will also be notified via email or certified mail. The prize must be claimed within (15) days of notification. Unclaimed prizes will be returned to the Stone Knight Productions prize fund.

  • By submitting an entry form, you agree to comply with all competition rules.
  • Non-subscribers must pay the full entry fee for each submission.
  • Subscribers may submit as many screenplays as allowed by their subscription package.
  • Each competition has a defined start and end date. No entries will be accepted after the deadline.
  • Entrants must be at least 18 years old.
  • Subscribing allows free entry into competitions and eligibility for cash prizes.
  • A clear headshot (no sunglasses or baseball caps) is required. Winning headshots will be displayed on our website.
  • To avoid disqualification, submit your entry form, screenplay, headshot, and fee (if applicable) together. Refunds for credit card payments will be processed within 5–7 business days (excluding weekends).

Winners will be notified within 72 hours of the competition’s close.

Winners are responsible for all applicable taxes and must provide their Social Security number for reporting purposes if prizes exceed $100.

  • Submitted screenplays must be original works. You agree to indemnify SKP against any copyright or rights disputes.
  • By accepting a prize, Winners grant SKP the right to use their story (or summary), name, likeness, city, state, and photograph for promotional purposes without additional compensation.
  • Winners must verify their age and identity with a valid photo ID and Social Security number within (15) days of notification.
  • Screenplays must not have been previously produced, sold, published, or optioned. Pages must be numbered consecutively. Personal information should appear only on the entry form, not in the script.
  • Submissions must include a one-page summary with your name and title. A two-minute video pitch is optional.

Judges’ identities remain confidential; their decisions are final.

Co-written scripts are allowed. All co-writers must be listed and sign the entry form. Prizes will be split equally.

Keep a copy of your submission for your records.

Winners will be announced online and notified via email or mail.

  • SKP reserves the right to cancel competitions with insufficient entries. In such cases, entry fees will be refunded.
  • All required materials must be submitted by the deadline to avoid disqualification.

SKP employees may not enter. Relatives may participate if they pay the full entry fee or hold a membership.

Two entry options:

  • Regular Fee: Pay per story submitted.
  • Membership: Pay a monthly fee and submit unlimited entries.
  • Cash prizes are awarded without requiring the sale of your work.
  • Estimated prize value: ($XXX.XX).
  • Additional fees may apply for credit/debit card transactions.
  • Prizes will be delivered via express mail within (7) business days of verification.
  • Failure to comply with rules results in disqualification and forfeiture of the entry fee.
  • All submissions will be archived for two years for potential feature projects.
  • SKP reserves the right to amend competition rules without notice.
  • Feedback will be provided within 60 days after the competition ends.

SKP offers members one year of complimentary manuscript storage. After this period, members may choose to retain or remove their manuscripts at no additional cost.
