THE STORY
R. Dell Sanders
Dell began his filmmaking journey in 1998 alongside two friends, initially focusing on screenwriting rather than directing. He studied film history and writing, supported by family and friends who nurtured his passion. From 2003 to 2008, he wrote six screenplays: Bad Day, Smoke House, Draw, Rude Awakening, The Dream, and The Doors. Draw received positive reviews in competitions, though it did not win.
In 2007, Dell founded Open Curtain Productions, LLC, which operated until 2012. After experiencing personal loss in 2016, he stepped away from filmmaking. In 2019, encouraged by his fiancée, he founded Stone Knight Productions, LLC. Returning to a transformed industry driven by streaming and social media, Dell is dedicated to building a platform for writers and independent filmmakers, while continuing to refine his own craft.
